The Board of Directors is delighted to announce the official appointment of Alicia C. Cobb as the New Executive Director of Bridgeport Arts & Cultural Council. Many of you may know Alicia as an award-winning visual and teaching artist and a dedicated community leader. She has been our Board Chair for the last four years. She has also successfully led our day-to-day operations as Acting Executive Director since early 2025. She brings more than two decades of administrative experience, a deep love for the Bridgeport community, and a galvanizing vision for arts-driven impact.

About Alicia: In addition to her leadership at BACC, Alicia’s artistic practice has been widely recognized across Connecticut and beyond. Her work as a teaching artist has empowered youth and adults alike, using creativity as a vehicle for healing, connection, and self-expression. Alicia was named a 2024 Arts Hero by the Connecticut Office of The Arts. She has collaborated with schools, nonprofits, and community organizations to build programs that center equity, social-emotional learning, and community pride. Alicia’s passion for nurturing local talent and creating spaces for belonging and collaboration makes her a powerful leader for this next chapter of BACC.

Under Alicia’s leadership, we look forward to strengthening partnerships, expanding opportunities for artists and youth, and advancing our mission to celebrate, collaborate and uplift Bridgeport’s creative community. Please join us in welcoming Alicia to her new role. All BACC communications, inquiries and notes of congratulations can be sent to Alicia at Bptartscouncil@gmail.com. We invite you to stay tuned for upcoming opportunities to connect with Alicia in person.

With appreciation for your continued support,
